Curettage, also known as root planing, is a procedure that involves removing tartar buildup between your teeth and gums. It's performed under local anaesthetic. More than one session may be required, depending on the severity of the situation.

Gum grafts
Gum grafts are recommended when a patient has one or more loose teeth. The procedure is used to add gum tissue where gum coverage is insufficient. This prevents further loosening.
Crown lengthening
Sometimes a dentist wants to install a crown on a tooth, but the original structure is so badly fractured or decayed that it can't support a crown. When this is the case, the dentist may recommend crown lengthening. This involves reshaping the gum and bone around the affected teeth until sufficient tooth structure is revealed.
